Thank you for your interest in my workshops. Over the past couple of years I have been working with Academy of Quilting providing on-line workshops, and I am planning to add more classes to my on-line line-up.

Why? Well, besides being lots of fun teaching to a whole world of students, I will be discontinuing my one and two day hands on workshops after 2016. I will be filling my time putting down roots in my new hometown – Paducah, Kentucky, and plan some dedicated adventuring in the area, and lots of time playing with FABRIC.

Since I love every opportunity I get to share my love of all things fabric I will continue to add new on-line workshops, share tutorials on my blog, and new titles to my line-up of technique oriented booklets.

I will continue to consider doing 4-5 day workshops; and I encourage you to contact me directly if this is something you would like to arrange.

From beginning to end you’ll be taking that beautiful scene you know and love and turning it into an amazing quilt! In this five day workshop you will learn and build upon your knowledge each day on how to capture and translate your favorite landscape photographs into colorful designs and unique fabric art.

You’ll learn the secrets of Fast-Piece Appliqué™ and how this technique uses machine piecing and appliqué in combination to simplify complicated curves and circles. Additionally, we’ll be designing and exploring how to add layers of beads, bangles or other types of embellishments –– so you can capture the spirit of your photos in fabric form. You’ll take home class projects and unique pieces designed from your original landscape photos, and new skills and techniques to apply in future projects.

Length: 6 hours (each day)    Level: Serious Beginner - Advanced

In this 4-1/2 day workshop we will take blah pieces of fabric and learn several methods of using paint (and all about color) to change the surface of a fabric. You’ll learn ways to add drama, whimsy, character and sparkle to your fabric and make your quilts uniquely ‘you’.

The paints provided for use in this workshop contain no dangerous dyes or chemicals. No need for facemasks or endless rinsing. Soap and water clean up, and after heat setting your fabrics are washable. Join the fun! You will go home with wonderful fabrics to be used in your next quilt projects and the skills to create much, much more!

Length: 6 hours (each day)    Level: Everyone

My fun-on-line workshops are available through Academy of Quilting. New classes will continue to be added, so you may want to sign-up for my newsletter to get the announcements first.

FABRIC-ating Embellishments

Finding a wonderful bead or other shiny object to add to your quilt can be fun BUT, utilizing them along with fabric can take them from ordinary to WOW! Join me in this fun, playful workshop where we will explore the world of creating embellishments with fabric-needle and thread…and of course a whole array of other fun materials. In this workshop I will be sharing eight different ways that fabric may be utilized not as a background, or as a shape amongst others in a block, but in ways to become supporting characters, featured star or comic relief. And, since featured stars need to shine I will also be teaching you eight ways to embellish the embellishments. Join me in this fun 4 lesson workshop and fill your own tool bag with amazing possibilities.
